Overview
The Buildings, Industrial, Utilities and Facilities group in Regina and Saskatoon provides electrical designs across a wide variety of client sectors and project types. The team has a need for Electrical Engineering personnel with expertise in Electrical Utilities, Industrial, and Mining environments. This includes power distribution, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), fire alarm systems, switchgear, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
As an Electrical Engineer, you will work with the AtkinsRéalis Electrical Engineering Design Group, delivering projects for Utilities, Industrial, Commercial, Institutional, and Mining clients.
Your role
- Develop and manage Electrical Engineering design deliverables for assigned projects, including investigations, report writing, design, and construction administration.
- Support business development activities for the Electrical Engineering group in Saskatoon and Regina.
- Support the development, monitoring, and maintenance of project schedules and budgets for Electrical Engineering design deliverables.
- Ensure the quality, consistency, accuracy, and completeness of Electrical Engineering deliverables as part of the corporate QA/QC program.
- Perform site investigations safely, including travelling to project sites, walking construction sites, carrying ladders or equipment (approximately 35 lbs.), climbing ladders to access ceiling spaces, lowering yourself to inspect low-level mechanical services, and complying with all safety regulations and requirements.
- Participate in local and corporate industry initiatives to advance technical capabilities and market development.
- Use software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, EasyPower, SKM, ETAP, and Microsoft Office to prepare project deliverables as required.
About you
- University Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGS.
- 4-10 years of relevant Electrical Power Systems design experience.
- Experience with electrical single-line diagrams, fire alarm systems, switchgear, MCCs, building electrical designs, and the application of relevant codes, standards, and design tools.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to develop solutions and effectively communicate with teammates, other disciplines, subcontractors, project managers, and clients.
- Strong desire to grow a career in Buildings and Utilities Electrical Engineering.
