Description
We’re looking for people who put their innovation to work to advance our success – and their own. Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.
As demand for critical power infrastructure projects continues to grow, we're expanding our field services team to support an increasing number of installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair projects across North America. Our team works with custom-engineered bus duct systems that support electrical power distribution in power generation, industrial, data center, and other critical infrastructure environments. As a Traveling Superintendent, you'll play a highly visible role leading on-site project coordination, supporting customers, and helping ensure successful project execution in the field.
** Important: This is a remote position that requires approximately 75% overnight travel, primarily across the continental United States. Projects will require extended stays at a single customer site lasting multiple weeks and occasionally several months.
While candidates located near Richland, MS are preferred, we welcome applicants located throughout the Southeast United States (TX, OK, AR, LA, TN, MS, AL, GA, FL, SC, NC) that support convenient travel to customer project sites. **
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Serve as nVent's primary on-site representative for large-scale engineered bus duct system installation projects, while also supporting outage, rebuild, and other field service projects as needed throughout North America.
- Coordinate daily project activities involving customers, subcontractors, Field Service Technicians, Project Managers, and internal support teams.
- Lead project site coordination and customer progress meetings while maintaining regular communication regarding project schedules, risks, and issue resolution.
- Monitor project schedules, workforce requirements, equipment availability, material readiness, and project progress throughout execution.
- Review drawings, project documentation, and project scope requirements to support effective project delivery and a positive customer experience.
- Make sound field decisions by balancing safety, schedule, customer commitments, operational needs, and project costs.
- Complete daily reports, project documentation, timekeeping records, and status updates while maintaining accurate project records.
- Support a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all assigned job sites.
YOU HAVE:
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- 3+ years of experience leading or coordinating field-based project activities at customer sites, including construction, installation, outage, commissioning, maintenance, or similar project environments.
- Proven experience supporting project execution at client locations, including schedule coordination, subcontractor coordination, issue resolution, progress reporting, and customer communication.
- Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills with the ability to lead multiple priorities in a fast-paced field environment.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, assembly drawings, plans, and project documentation.
- Solid understanding of OSHA requirements, job-site safety practices, workforce documentation, and timekeeping processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using project scheduling, reporting, or project tracking tools.
- Ability and willingness to travel overnight up to 75% across the country. Extended stays at customer sites are required. The job involves working at heights and in different outdoor settings.
WE HAVE:
A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day
