Description

Mō te tūranga | About the role

As Fulton Hogan National Value Chain Emissions Manager you will lead the development of a practical, credible and scalable reporting approach that strengthens data quality, supports better business decisions, and helps inform future emissions reduction priorities. This is a chance to shape how Fulton Hogan New Zealand approaches national value chain (or ‘Scope 3’) greenhouse gas measurement, reporting and assurance readiness.

Reporting to the National Sustainability Manager and working across commercial, finance, operational, data and sustainability teams, you’ll connect information from across the value chain, build on existing client, project and regional reporting and turn it into clear and relevant insights supporting strong decision making. It’s a role with real influence, plenty of scope to build capability, and the opportunity to help move the business forward in a meaningful way.

Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities

  • Own the development of Fulton Hogan New Zealand’s Scope 3 reporting approach, including materiality assessment, initial estimates, and a multi-year pathway to improve data coverage, quality and controls.
  • Develop and maintain fit-for-purpose methodologies, boundaries, assumptions, controls and documentation to support complete and consistent reporting.
  • Map and assess relevant data across business systems, identify gaps, and build and automate repeatable processes for data collection, validation, consolidation and review.
  • Lead the preparation of the annual Scope 3 emissions inventory, support assurance readiness, and act as the key technical contact for consultants and external assurance providers.
  • Provide practical analysis, guidance and tools that help leaders and teams understand emissions trends, data limitations, improvement opportunities and strategic priorities.

Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, accounting, data or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong applied knowledge of the GHG Protocol, including Scope 3 category assessment, calculation methods, boundaries, emission factors and data quality considerations.
  • Proven data management and analytical capability, including using AI and data analytics tools in working with procurement, financial, ERP or operational datasets.
  • Experience building emissions inventories, methodologies, controls and evidence suitable for internal review or external assurance, ideally in a complex operating environment.
  • The ability to influence across functions, communicate technical information clearly, and work through ambiguity with sound judgement, initiative and attention to detail.
