Company Overview:

Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures used to house fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment.

Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Media Blaster to join our growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for preparing large fabricated steel and aluminum components for painting and finishing by operating industrial blasting equipment in a blast booth. Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate industrial media blasting equipment in a blast booth.
  • Blast steel and aluminum components to properly prepare surfaces for coating and finishing.
  • Prepare large fabricated products including fuel tanks, enclosures, frames, and structural assemblies.
  • Ensure surfaces are properly cleaned and blasted to meet production and quality requirements.
  • Safely move and position large parts using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure consistent surface preparation and finish quality.
  • Follow all safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and blasting equipment.
  • Follow production schedules and direction from the Lead and Supervisor.
  • Work closely with team members to meet daily production and customer requirements.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of industrial sandblasting or media blasting experience preferred, ideally working in a blast booth.
  • Experience working with large steel or aluminum fabricated components is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, structural steel, or industrial finishing environment.
  • Ability to safely operate or become certified on forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding industrial environment while wearing required PPE.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and contribute as part of a production team.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week with overtime as production needs require.
  • Industrial painting or other surface-preparation experience is a plus.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
