Description

About Matroid

Matroid is a full-service computer vision company with an end-to-end platform that allows enterprise customers to rapidly train and deploy automated visual inspection on imagery, including EO, IR, X-Ray, CT, OCT, and others.

Founded in 2016 by a Stanford professor, Matroid serves a broad and rapidly growing customer base across manufacturing, automotive, logistics, aerospace, data center infrastructure, and security.

The Opportunity

Matroid is looking for a Deep Learning Field Engineer to operate at the forefront of computer vision deployment in industry, building best-in-class CV systems that leverage deep learning to solve challenging use cases such as quality inspection, assembly verification, process optimization, and safety and compliance.

You will work from the Palo Alto office, a five-minute walk from the Caltrain station.

What You'll Do

  • Train state-of-the-art CV models across a broad range of domains, including object detection, anomaly detection, panoptic segmentation, action recognition, and tracking
  • Deploy end-to-end CV systems across cloud, edge, and hybrid environments
  • Integrate Matroid into inspection workflows and third-party systems, including manufacturing execution systems, safety alert systems, and video management systems
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative evaluation of CV systems and iterate to meet performance requirements
  • Act as the technical expert, advising on all matters from technical scoping through model training, deployment, and integration
  • Design and lead product training sessions that empower customers with computer vision

You Should Have

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or another technical field
  • Experience training and deploying state-of-the-art CV models using popular machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
  • Strong software engineering skills
  • Solid oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and commercial audiences

Nice to Have

  • Graduate degree with a concentration in computer vision, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or a related field
  • Previous experience in field engineering, professional services, consulting, or another customer-facing role
  • Experience at a high-growth technology startup
