Description

Flare is a leading provider of advanced benefits and onboarding solutions designed for the modern workplace. Backed by MYOB and serving over one million employees nationally, we're a fast-growing, diverse team of 100+ employees on a mission to make the world of work better, easier, and more beneficial for everyone.

About the role:

We're looking for a curious, commercially minded and outcome-focused Product Manager to join our product team. You'll work in a cross-functional squad alongside engineering and design, partnering closely with teams across commercial, partnerships, operations and compliance.

This is an opportunity to own meaningful customer and business outcomes, work closely with experienced product leaders, and help shape products used by more than one million employees across Australia. If you're energised by solving complex problems, working across disciplines and seeing the tangible impact of your work, you'll thrive at Flare.

Day to day, you'll:

  • Own the roadmap and backlog for your product area, aligned to Flare's strategy and focused on measurable customer outcomes, business growth and commercial impact.
  • Lead discovery through customer conversations, support insights, data and research, turning what you learn into clear problems, priorities and success measures.
  • Partner closely with engineers and designers to deliver the simplest solutions that create meaningful customer and business value.
  • Get into the detail of delivery, from backlog refinement and technical trade-offs through to launch and post-release measurement.
  • Think in systems, connecting customer needs, business goals and technical constraints across the broader product ecosystem.
  • Build alignment across stakeholders and use AI tools to accelerate discovery, analysis, documentation and decision-making.

The skills you'll need

  • Strong product foundations. Experience in Product Management or a related discipline such as Business Analysis, Product Ownership or Product Operations. We care more about your impact and product thinking than your title or years of experience.
  • Customer and commercial thinking. You uncover meaningful insights, understand customer problems and use data to make evidence-based decisions that drive outcomes.
  • Technical curiosity and systems thinking. You can engage confidently with engineers, understand how systems fit together and navigate complexity across products and platforms.
  • Clear communication and influence. You communicate clearly, build strong relationships and bring people together around a shared direction.
  • Pragmatism and adaptability. You're comfortable with ambiguity, make sensible trade-offs and stay focused on delivering value.
  • Growth mindset. You maintain high standards, embrace feedback, use AI thoughtfully and enjoy learning in a fast-moving environment. Experience in HR, payroll, employee benefits, lending or fintech is advantageous but not essential.
