About this role 

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will work with an elite team of developers to build scalable systems and troubleshoot using various tools.
The Live Ops Metrics team is responsible for the back-office tools for visualizing various aspects of Delivery Network.
The role requires a well-rounded and upbeat person who can hit the ground running and build collaborative relationships to support the dynamic environment we operate in where speed to market and reliability are critical components of success. 

Location: Remote  ( Calgary or Toronto)

Employment type: Permanent, full-time

Reporting to: Technology Manager 

These are some of the key components to the position:  

• Help the team to improve test processes and automation in an agile environment
• Coach and mentor the team for best test practices.
• Review the code of peers in a team. Mentoring more junior team members
• Become a trusted authority in your team for QA and Automation matters, with a strong evidence-based case for why a release is ready to ship. 
• Engineer solid, reliable automated tests that are considered as reliable as production code. 
• Ensure that the team has the right level of test coverage for the product, functional and non-functional tests. 
• Configure CI to provide the maximum team benefit, balancing coverage and confidence at each stage.
• Enthuse and advocate quality practises across teams 

What will you bring to the team? 

We’d like to hear from you if you are confident testing in a collaborative, agile environment. We expect you to be comfortable working with software engineers, configuring environments, looking in databases, automating tests and building frameworks. 

• Automated Testing & Frameworks: Hands-on expertise writing automated tests (e.g., Cypress.io), applying standard test automation design patterns, and building frameworks tailored for CD environments.

• CI/CD Integration: Proven background integrating automated tests into continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines to maintain code quality.

• APIs & Web Protocols: Strong practical understanding of RESTful web services, HTTP protocols, and API testing (tools like Postman or Pact are a plus).

• Languages & UI Frameworks (Bonus): Familiarity or experience with modern application stacks, specifically Java 17+ and React.js 18.

• Quality & Test Management Tooling (Bonus): Experience leveraging code quality platforms (SonarQube), load/performance testing tools (Artillery), and test management suites (Zephyr Scale/TM4J).

• Cloud & Event-Driven Architecture (Bonus): Exposure to major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and asynchronous messaging services (Amazon SNS/SQS, Apache Kafka).
