RN ER/MED SURGE/PART-TIME/DAYS AND/OR NIGHTS

Highland Hills Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse who can work both in the Emergency Department and Medical Surgical Department. This is a part-time position for days and/or nights.

While working in the ED, the RNs will provide professional nursing care with the Emergency Department; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Provides care that meets the psycho-social, physical and general aspects of care. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psycho-social needs of patients, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with ED physicians regarding changes in patient’s status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

When working in the Medical Surgical Department, the RNs provide direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical setting.  Communicates with physicians/nurse manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.  Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.

Regulatory Requirements:

• Current Mississippi Registered Nurse license.
• Current BLS Certification.
• ACLS certified within 6 months of hire.
• PALS within 6 months of hire.
• TNCC within one year of hire.

Language Skills:

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Additional languages preferred.

Skills:

• Basic computer knowledge.
• Demonstrate current competency in those clinical responsibilities for which assigned.
