Description
The essential function of the position within the organization is to manage the recreational area of responsibility. The position is responsible: staff supervision, facilities and/or programs of responsibility, training, customer service, related paperwork, and reporting. The position works under general supervision according to some procedures, decides how and when to complete tasks.Supervises staff, including selecting or recommending selection, training, assigning and evaluating work, counseling, disciplining and recommending termination.
Plans and organizes both maintenance and recreation activities for area of responsibility. Provides assistance and support to staff as required for completion of task/projects.
Interacts with the general public to provide information regarding area of responsibility, and/or to discuss and resolve issues or complaints, interacts with other city departments to provide assistance as needed.
Manages and assists with maintenance of equipment, facilities, and/or grounds of responsibility, ensuring a safe environment for both staff and patrons.
Maintains records systems, process daily reports and deposits including reports, memos, requisitions and personnel information.
Attends or conducts staff and other professional meetings to exchange information; attends in-service training and technical or professional classes, seminars, or conferences to improve technical or professional skills.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Education requirements refers to job specific training and education required for entry into the position.
Requires Associate’s degree or the equivalent of two years of college or specialized vocational training in public administration, business management, or a closely related field.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: Licenses, certifications, and registrations refers to professional, state, or federal licenses, certifications, or registrations required to enter the position.
Requires certification and/or licenses particular to the area of responsibility.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience refers to the amount of work experience that is required for entry into the position that would result in reasonable expectation that the person can perform the tasks required by the position.
Requires two years of related experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical demands refers to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
Requires light work involving standing or walking some of the time, exerting up to 50 pounds of force on a regular basis, and moderate dexterity in operating machinery, tools, or office equipment.
