Job Description
Work collaboratively with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain and other Project Team members across both the US & UK, to review product & project requirements, existing build process, BoMs & facility layout before defining cost, resource and timelines to replicate how this will be replicated at a new facility.Design the UK manufacturing process to reproduce the US build at the required volumes; including layout, tooling, capital equipment and workstation setup
Accurately understand the existing build process from drawings, documentation and BoMs and develop plans to replicate it in the UK to local health, safety and environmental law while preserving equivalence to the US qualified process
Analyse current cycle times and generate capacity models, including resource planning and cost estimation
Support the production planning study, contributing to production requirements, inform make/buy process and understand work required to validate the process.
Work with ITAR Controlled Technical data in accordance with defined procedures
Establish quality equivalents between the US and UK lines and support qualification and certification of UK production including lot acceptance testing infrastructure
Work closely with Ultra Maritime Engineering and Production counterparts at the US Source site, including periods of travel and cross time zone working,
Location and travel based at Greenford with at least three trips to the US site during the transfer
Eligible for and willing to obtain UKSC clearance, and screenable for ITAR controlled access
Desirable: Experience of manufacturing in a regulated defence environment, ideally involving dangerous goods, energetics, batteries or similar controlled products
Desirable:- Working knowledge of ITAR and US export controls as they affect technical data and the transfer of manufacturing capability
Typically, a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in a related field
