Overview
As a Substitute Cook for Head Start's RXII program, you'll prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children in a family-style setting. Your responsibilities include following pre-approved menus and standardized recipes, making necessary substitutions while maintaining nutritional value, adapting menus for special dietary needs, monitoring plate waste, and maintaining high sanitation standards according to State Health Department guidelines. You'll also handle food storage, temperature monitoring, equipment maintenance, and inventory management. The role requires knowledge of food safety procedures, the ability to work in a team environment, and a commitment to providing quality nutrition for children from low-income families in a seasonal, part-time capacity.
