Overview

As an IPS Retention Employment Specialist, you will support people with mental health challenges to stay in and succeed in paid employment. You'll offer one-to-one guidance, resolve workplace issues, advise on benefits and wellbeing, and collaborate with employers and clinical teams. This role requires excellent communication skills and experience in employment support or employer engagement.

Starting salary of £29,693

About the Role

As an IPS Retention Employment Specialist, you will support people with mental health challenges to stay in and succeed in paid employment. You will provide personalised advice, practical workplace support, and ongoing guidance to help individuals overcome barriers and sustain their employment.

Key Duties

  • Provide one-to-one support to help clients retain employment.
  • Work with employers and clients to resolve workplace issues.
  • Offer guidance around benefits, wellbeing and workplace adjustments.
  • Build positive relationships with employers, clinical teams and partner organisations.
  • Maintain accurate records, case notes and performance information.
  • Monitor client progress and provide ongoing in-work support.

About You

You will be a motivated and organised individual with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. You will have experience supporting people to achieve positive outcomes, be confident working independently, and have a genuine passion for helping people with mental health challenges thrive in employment. Experience of employer engagement and supporting people in a work-related setting is desirable.
