This role is located onsite in Melbourne, FL.
The Ground Systems Team is seeking a Systems Engineer to own end-to-end subsystem requirements verification between upper-level (system) and lower-level (software/test) requirements. The role uses DOORS as the official requirements repository, leverages DXL for automation/reporting, and uses Jira and Confluence to query user stories, track work, and publish status to stakeholders. Supports design reviews, change control, and verification planning.
What you’ll do
- Establish and maintain bidirectional traceability between upper- and lower-level requirement specifications in DOORS, including interfaces and test cases.
- Configure and manage DOORS modules, attributes, link modules, link rules, views, and baselines to enforce data quality and consistency.
- Perform impact analysis for changes; identify orphan, conflicting, or duplicate requirements and drive resolution with requirement owners.
- Generate and publish coverage metrics (e.g., forward/backward trace coverage, verification readiness) and dashboards for stakeholders.
- Support design and gate reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) with trace reports, audit evidence, and DOORS exports.
- Integrate workflows across DOORS and Jira, including querying user stories, maintaining filters/boards, and aligning epics/stories to requirements.
- Document processes, decisions, and status in Confluence; maintain traceability guides, conventions, and data dictionaries.
- Collaborate with systems, software, test, and operations teams to decompose requirements, define acceptance criteria, and plan verification.
- Support configuration/change control, baselining, and requirement versioning; champion best practices in requirements engineering.
- Define and maintain requirement-level verification methods and acceptance criteria; plan and coordinate verification activities in alignment with program milestones, ensuring each requirement is verifiable and has a clear path to closure.
- Develop, maintain, and publish verification documentation, including requirements verification matrices, requirement-to-test mappings, verification status dashboards, and audit-ready evidence packages in support of design reviews, TRRs, and customer audits.
- Own verification management for Ground Systems, including requirement-level verification status tracking, coordination with test and analysis teams, resolution of verification gaps and discrepancies, and regular reporting of verification readiness and progress to program leadership
- Communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings at technical and program reviews and boards.
- Apply extensive technical expertise in the development of technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
