About the Role
Thermon is seeking a dynamic and business-oriented Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations for our San Marcos manufacturing facility. This role serves as the primary HR partner to site leadership, driving talent strategies, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and workforce planning to support business growth.
As a key member of the HR team, you will lead a small HR team, collaborate closely with operational leaders, and champion a positive, high-performing workplace culture. The ideal candidate is an experienced HR manager who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys balancing strategic initiatives with hands-on HR support.
What You'll Do
Strategic HR Partnership
- Serve as the trusted HR advisor to site leadership on employee relations, talent management, workforce planning, and organizational development.
- Partner with leaders to build high-performing teams and enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Support organizational and cultural change initiatives, including restructuring, workforce planning, and talent development.
Talent Management & Acquisition
- Service managers and supervisors with full-cycle recruitment process.
- Drive onboarding, succession planning, talent reviews, and performance management processes.
- Support on strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Lead and resolve complex employee relations matters with fairness, objectivity, and professionalism.
- Conduct workplace investigations and provide guidance on corrective actions and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
Leadership & Team Development
- Manage and develop the onsite HR team, including an HR Generalist and HR Assistant.
- Coach managers on leadership effectiveness, employee development, and performance improvement.
- Facilitate training initiatives that support employee growth and organizational success.
HR Operations & Analytics
- Oversee Workday (HRIS system), employee records, and data integrity within Workday.
- Analyze workforce service KPI metrics and trends to drive informed business decisions.
- Support annual HR processes, including talent reviews, performance management, budgeting, and workforce planning.
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by management.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, including HR leadership responsibilities.
- Experience supporting multi-site operations.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or operational environments.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, employment law, performance management, and talent acquisition.
- Demonstrated ability to influence leaders and build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms; Workday experience preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 20% within the region, mostly between Austin and San Marcos, Texas.
