OverviewProvides professional nursing care to patients within the medical practice in support of, and as directed by, the physicians. Mercy is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Children’s Respiratory & Sleep Medicine Clinic at the New Ballas Clinic Towers on the campus of Mercy Hospital St. Louis. In this role, you will work alongside pediatric specialists to provide exceptional care to children with respiratory, pulmonary, and sleep-related disorders while supporting patients and families through education, treatment, and care coordination.
This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who enjoys building relationships with patients and families, working in a collaborative outpatient specialty setting, and making a meaningful impact on children's health.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care and clinical support to pediatric patients in a specialty clinic setting.
- Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain medical history, assess patient condition, and record vital signs.
- Prepare patients for physician examinations and procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and specialty procedures.
- Administer medications, including IM, subcutaneous, intradermal injections, and IV therapy as ordered.
- Perform clinical procedures specific to pediatric respiratory and sleep medicine.
- Coordinate diagnostic testing, laboratory work, and imaging as needed.
- Triage and respond to patient and parent phone calls, collaborating with providers to ensure timely follow-up.
- Document patient information accurately within the electronic health record (EHR).
- Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and self-care.
- Maintain exam rooms, clinical supplies, medications, and equipment according to established standards.
- Assist with referrals, prior authorizations, and coordinated care activities.
- Support emergency preparedness activities and respond appropriately to urgent clinical situations.
- Adhere to infection prevention standards, safety protocols, and Mercy policies.
Qualifications
Required Education
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Required Licensure
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri (or eligible for Missouri licensure).
Required Certifications
- CPR Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment).
Experience
- Previous nursing experience is welcomed but not required.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
