The International & Channel Development Accounting team supports Starbucks global business through accounting operational support, financial analysis, billing, royalty accounting, reconciliations, financial controls, and compliance activities. The team partners closely with international markets, finance teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting while helping drive process improvements that support a growing and evolving business.
Role focus: Accurately account for assigned International and Channel Development activities, support close and reporting, strengthen controls, and help drive scalable process improvements through effective business partnership.
As an accountant II, you will…
- Execute accounting activities and financial analysis to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation in accordance with Starbucks accounting policies and U.S. GAAP.
- Support billing, royalty accounting, and other operational accounting processes for International and Channel Development business activities.
- Partner with international finance teams and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve accounting questions and support business initiatives.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including variance analysis and audit support.
- Identify process improvement opportunities that increase efficiency, strengthen controls, and support business growth.
- Support the execution of key financial controls and compliance requirements while maintaining high-quality documentation
We’d love to hear from people with:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of accounting or finance experience.
- Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
- Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with business partners and collaborate across teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with ERP systems, BlackLine, Oracle, or similar accounting systems preferred.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
