[What the role is]

As an Engineer with the Planning, Development & Corporate Services (PDCS) Division of Water Reclamation Plants (WRP) Dept, you will be deployed to the Electrical and Power System Design team to play a leading role in designing large-scale water reclamation plant projects, which includes the planning, development and implementation of the New Kranji WRP (NKWRP) and Changi WRP Phase 3 expansion (CP3) projects as part of a multi-disciplinary project team. You will:

[What you will be working on]

  • Apply engineering knowledge and problem-solving skills to develop complex industrial solutions for the next generation smart Water Reclamation Plants 
  • Develop engineering specialisation competencies (e.g., 66kV experience) 
  • Work collaboratively with consultant and stakeholders to ensure that end users’ requirements are managed and met in terms of scope, quality, benefits, and risks within the constraints of the project’s timeline.  
  • Work closely with the team to develop and review technical matters related to electrical scope of works—such as EHT/HT/LT switchgears (66kV/22kV/LT), Transformers, diesel generator, power cables, and compliance requirements 
  • Ensure design compliance with relevant standards and electrical safety regulations, including Singapore Standard SS638, electrical statutory codes, SPPG handbook and workplace safety requirements and takes into consideration latest technologies and industry best practices (e.g. design for maintainability, energy-efficient design, etc) 
  • Work with consultant to liaise with EMA and SPPG on 66kV/22kV electrical works required for construction of NKWRP and CP3 expansion projects.  
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop electrical design, while addressing operational requirements, reliability, resiliency, safety, maintainability, future-proofing, and other electrical design considerations 
  • Involve in the design, development, and implementation of smart initiatives for next-generation digital water plants, e.g., incorporating digital twinning, automation, artificial intelligence, and robotics.  

[What we are looking for]

  • Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Power Engineering or equivalent 
  • Entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset 
  • Experience in infrastructure projects or plant design/ construction/ operations & maintenance work is preferred 
  • Good communication, written and interpersonal skills
