Shifts: 1st Shift

Schedule: Monday – Friday, with Saturdays & Sundays as needed.

Hours: General hours: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM/end of shift (flex as needed)

SUMMARY : This position is responsible for managing the production and delivery of high-quality feed to Tyson growers in the most cost-effective manner while ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. The Feed Mill Manager oversees feed manufacturing, inventory management, transportation operations, safety initiatives, preventative maintenance, and team member development to support efficient and reliable feed production and delivery.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Manage feed production and delivery operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost control.
• Maintain daily ingredient inventories to support Tyson and FDA compliance requirements.
• Review daily driver reports and ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Lead and develop team members in production, housekeeping, and preventative maintenance.
• Coordinate production schedules, ingredient ordering, and feed recovery activities.
• Schedule preventative maintenance and manage parts inventory to minimize downtime.
• Maintain ingredient and parts inventories within established tolerances.
• Utilize continuous improvement tools and methodologies to improve operational performance.
• Drive improvements in:
  • Crumble and pellet quality
  • Tons produced per hour
  • Weekly feed production volume
  • Tons hauled per load
  • Delivery turnaround times
• Promote and lead a strong safety culture throughout the feed mill and transportation operations.
• Provide training and communicate effectively with team members to address operational opportunities and challenges.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer concerns related to feed quality, feed deliveries, and feed recovery.
• Manage operations in accordance with approved budgets and capital plans.
• Prepare and submit capital expenditure requests as needed.
• Maintain regular communication with leadership regarding key metrics, operational performance, and improvement opportunities.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the complex toll-milling partner.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, or a related field preferred.

Experience: 4+ years of experience in feed mill operations and feed delivery management preferred.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Supervisory: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.

Travel: Minimal

Additional Requirements:

• Must possess a valid driver’s license. CDL preferred.
• Must be able and willing to cover other shifts as needed.
• Must be able and willing to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
