About the Role
The Tax and Compliance Supervisor will handle the company's tax filings, statutory compliance, and regulatory documentation. You'll make sure tax returns are filed correctly and on time, keep the company compliant with government agencies, support audits, manage accountable forms and insurance requirements, and guide the Tax and Compliance team toward accurate, on-time output.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep the company fully compliant with Philippine tax laws and statutory requirements under the BIR, SEC, and LGUs.
- Prepare tax returns, computations, reconciliations, and regulatory reports for management's review and sign-off.
- Ensure taxes and other statutory obligations are filed and paid accurately and on schedule.
- Regularly reconcile tax transactions to catch and prevent reporting errors.
- Compile and organize documentation needed for tax audits, external audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Track changes in tax laws and regulations, and recommend policy or process updates as needed.
- Spot potential tax-saving opportunities by reviewing financial data.
- Oversee inventory, storage, and replenishment of accountable forms, including BIR-registered receipts and invoices.
- Liaise with insurance providers to secure and renew coverage for branches, assets, and new branch launches.
- Maintain organized, up-to-date records of contracts, tax documents, accountable forms, and regulatory filings (physical and digital).
- Prepare and submit Financial Statement Closing Process reports and other tax-related reports on schedule.
- Document audit findings, issues raised, actions taken, and how they were resolved.
- Build strong working relationships with government agencies, external auditors, consultants, and insurers.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the Tax and Compliance team.
- Ensure new team members are properly onboarded and trained, and give ongoing feedback and growth opportunities.
- Foster accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in tax and compliance, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Solid grasp of Philippine taxation, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience dealing with the BIR, SEC, LGUs, external auditors, consultants, and insurance providers.
- ERP system experience; SAP is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Background in tax reconciliation, tax return preparation, financial reporting, and compliance documentation.
