The role

The Overseas Investment Manager – Gas Sector is responsible for identifying, evaluating, developing, and executing international investment opportunities within the gas and related industries. The role combines international market research, investment analysis, financial modeling, due diligence, business development, and cross-border project execution.

 

Your Responsibilities:

International Market Research & Strategy

  • Research industrial policies, market trends, and development opportunities related to the gas sector and international investment markets.
  • Conduct research and analysis on investment policies, regulatory environments, foreign investment access requirements, and business conditions across various countries.
  • Monitor country-specific, market, regulatory, geopolitical, and industry risks and provide insights to support overseas investment decisions.
  • Track industrial policies, foreign investment regulations, and gas-sector developments in key target markets.
  • Prepare regular regional market intelligence, industry analysis, and investment opportunity reports.
  • Monitor competitors and international industry players, analyzing their strategies, market positioning, and investment activities.

Overseas Investment & Business Development

  • Identify, source, and pursue overseas gas-related investment opportunities and potential strategic partnerships.
  • Expand the Group’s international business portfolio by developing new markets, customers, partners, and investment opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with international clients, business partners, investors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Conduct negotiations with clients and counterparties regarding investment projects, commercial terms, and cooperation arrangements.

Investment Evaluation & Due Diligence

  • Conduct commercial, financial, market, and operational due diligence for potential overseas investment projects.
  • Perform feasibility studies and evaluate investment opportunities based on market potential, profitability, strategic fit, and associated risks.
  • Develop financial models and conduct profitability, valuation, sensitivity, and risk analyses.
  • Prepare comprehensive investment proposals, investment analysis reports, feasibility studies, and recommendations for management review.
  • Draft and review investment-related documents, including contracts, cooperation agreements, term sheets, and other transaction documents in coordination with relevant teams.

Project Execution & Transaction Management

  • Collaborate with technology, legal, finance, and other internal departments to progress investment projects from initial assessment through negotiation, approval, signing, and closing.
  • Coordinate with external advisors, including law firms, consulting firms, financial advisors, and other intermediaries, to support transaction execution.
  • Coordinate requirements related to Overseas Direct Investment (ODI) filing, company registration, regulatory compliance, and other cross-border investment processes.
  • Organize and facilitate contract signing, project handover, and other transaction-related activities.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of key milestones, approvals, and deliverables.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders throughout the investment lifecycle.

 

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, International Business, Investment Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in overseas investment, international business development, cross-border M&A, investment banking, corporate development, or international market development is highly preferred.
  • Experience in the gas, industrial gas, energy, engineering, infrastructure, or related sectors is an advantage.
  • Background in air separation plant design, sales, engineering, project management, or after-sales service is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of macroeconomics, international markets, industry dynamics, investment principles, and risk assessment.
  • Strong financial analysis skills, including financial modeling, profitability analysis, investment evaluation, and risk analysis.
  • Strong research, analytical, and report-writing skills, with the ability to translate complex market information into actionable business insights.
  • Excellent English communication and business writing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with international stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Willing and able to undertake frequent international business travel as required.
