Join Blue Ridge Mountain EMC as a Full-Time Accounting Clerk and become part of a team that supports the financial operations of a member-owned electric cooperative. This onsite position in Young Harris, GA, will primarily support the Plant Accounting Group, assisting with the accounting and recordkeeping related to utility plant assets, construction projects, and other financial activities that help maintain our electric system.

YOUR ROLE AS AN ACCOUNTING CLERK
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for supporting the daily activities of the Plant Accounting Group. Working under the direction of the Supervisor of Accounting, this position assists with processing accounts payable transactions, maintaining utility plant and fixed asset records, and preparing documentation for financial reporting and the annual audit.
Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, sound organizational skills, and the ability to work accurately with financial information. The Accounting Clerk also works with employees across departments to ensure accounting records are complete and support the cooperative's operational and reporting needs.
WOULD YOU BE A GREAT ACCOUNTING CLERK?
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and committed to producing accurate work. A working knowledge of accounting principles, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to learn accounting software are important for success in this position.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you'll work with employees throughout the cooperative while supporting the Plant Accounting Group. The ability to prioritize multiple assignments, maintain confidentiality, and solve problems independently will help you succeed. Experience with accounts payable, fixed assets, construction accounting, or utility accounting is beneficial but not required.
