Seattle Children’s MFM clinic is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) to join our growing team at the Tacoma location.
Our MFM clinic works closely with local community providers to deliver the highest quality of care to high-risk pregnant patients. As a key member of our clinical support team, you will collaborate closely with providers, nurses, sonographers, and front desk staff to ensure seamless care coordination and an exceptional patient experience.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Your roles and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Patient Intake & Rooming: Safely room patients, take vital signs, document accurate clinical histories, and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
- Clinic Preparation: Perform thorough chart prep ahead of visits, ensuring all necessary records, lab results, and prior imaging are readily available for providers.
- Communication Management: Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls professionally, communicating effectively with patients, families, and referring provider offices.
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) Support: Manage patient messages, appointment requests, and clinical coordination via MyChart.
- Cross-Functional Teamwork: Partner with front desk staff, nurses, and sonographers to maintain smooth daily clinic flow and coordinate comprehensive high-risk obstetric care.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent experience
Required Credentials
Medical Assistant – Certified or Interim Certification by Washington Department of Health (DOH) prior to start date Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
Preferred
Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program Current or recent Medical Assistant experience in Pediatrics, Urgent Care and/or Medical screening and immunization Current National Medical Assistant Association Certification (eligible for premium)
Compensation Range
$26.51 - $39.76 per hourSalary Information
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
