GFT is seeking a highly organized Collections Specialist to join our Administrative Support team in Dallas, TX. This role follows a hybrid-remote work model.
GFT’s Shared Service Services team, which includes Human Resources, Legal, Accounting & Finance, IT Services and Marketing & Communications, is essential for managing and supporting the company's global operations. What you’ll be challenged to do:
The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing and collecting outstanding accounts receivable by proactively engaging with clients. This role supports financial operations by ensuring accurate data entry in the Deltek VantagePoint ERP system, collaborating with internal teams, and analyzing account information to resolve outstanding balances. The ideal candidate contributes to maintaining strong client relationships while supporting overall cash flow and financial accuracy.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Monitor accounts receivable to identify outstanding debts and aging balances.
- Investigate historical account data to understand and resolve discrepancies.
- Contact clients regarding overdue invoices and payment status.
- Resolve overdue balances and facilitate collection of payments.
- Maintain and report on collection activity and account status.
- Respond to and resolve client questions or complaints related to outstanding debt.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payments or balances due.
- Assist in resolving customer credit-related issues.
- Support reconciliation and resolution of unapplied payments.
- Collaborate with Billing and Project Accounting Specialists to guide adjustments within the system.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
What you will bring to our firm:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field or high school and equivalent experience.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience as a collection’s specialist or similar role.
- Working proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, including emotional intelligence.
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- High attention to detail with strong time-management skills.
What we prefer you bring:
- Experience with project accounting software such as BST, Deltek, or similar systems.
Compensation:
- The range for this position is salary range is $50,000 - $65,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
