About The Position
The Gas Engineer is primarily responsible for designing and estimating distribution work as it pertains to new business, maintenance, system improvements and code compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
Review/Complete designs and estimates for transmission and distribution systems with emphasis on adherence to company standards, procedures, and policies, including designs for new business, replacements, maintenance, regulator stations, and metering installations. Provide technical assistance and direction to other personnel completing designs and estimates of distribution projects. Update and maintain documentation of completed field work.
Review construction plans from outside sources for potential conflicts and recommend actions to prevent or remove conflicts.
Provide technical expertise to designers.
Review the physical condition of transmission and distribution systems and make engineering recommendations for the replacement of obsolete or inadequate facilities.
Work collaboratively with operations supervision and other Company departments to ensure safe and reliable delivery to meet customer expectations and commitments. Effectively utilize and provide technical support relating to the use of the energy delivery business systems.
Contribute to the development and implementation of Division and function goals. Identify and implement improvements in Division operations designed to control costs and improve productivity. Participate in special projects or task teams as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university required. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain one in Illinois preferred. Engineering experience preferred.

Good analytical, decision-making, communication, and human relations skills and ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders to reach consensus required.

Compensation Range:
$71,100.00 - $172,200.00* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant's credentials.
At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
