How You Will Contribute
The Techno Lead is the owner of technology, line assets, and technical capability for the production line.
The role is accountable for equipment and process reliability to ensure extended asset life and optimum line performance by adopting HPWS and IL6S ways of working. The Techno Lead works closely with Business Development and Engineering teams during technical interventions to support vertical start-ups.
As the subject matter expert for line technology and processes, the Techno Lead is responsible for strengthening the technical and process capability of the line team to support the loss elimination journey. The role also owns and drives the Preventive Maintenance (PM) Standard Work Process (SWP) to ensure progression of the PM pillar as per the line master plan.
Key Responsibilities
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Contribute to risk assessments and reduce high Risk Rating Numbers (RRN) while promoting a strong behavioural safety culture on the shop floor.
Lead risk assessments for technical upgrades and Kaizen initiatives.
Ensure closure of unsafe conditions and food safety risks by providing the required resources, including spare parts and external services.
Ensure all change management activities comply with Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) requirements and stakeholder expectations.
Ensure compliance with statutory technical requirements such as pressure testing, calibration and tool safety assessments.
Drive adherence to procurement guidelines, Quality Policies (QP), maintenance SOPs and sustainability requirements at the line.
Ensure full compliance with Safety, Quality and Financial policies while executing maintenance activities.
Delivery & Cost
Improve equipment reliability by reducing unplanned line losses through effective preventive maintenance and enhanced technical capability.
Ensure timely execution of the Preventive Maintenance Standard Work Process (PM SWP)- Planning and scheduling, Time-based maintenance, Correcting design weaknesses, Equipment ranking, Improvement in MTBB, MTBF and MTTR
Ensure timely availability of spare parts and services while optimizing inventory.
Develop a strong breakdown analysis (BDA) culture and ensure timely completion of corrective actions.
Prepare annual maintenance plans and budgets, including major overhauls, aligned with production plans.
Own line sustainability KPIs related to energy, water consumption and resource optimization.
Manage the Maintenance & Repair (M&R) budget by improving asset reliability and achieving MTBB and MTTR targets while adhering to the M&R glide path.
Collaborate with Procurement and the PM Pillar to develop alternate sourcing strategies for parts and services to improve total cost of ownership.
As a member of the Line Council (Line/VS Lead, Process Lead and Techno Lead), contribute to improving Line Business KPIs and KAIs with long-term sustainability.
Conduct Maintenance Prevention (MP) workshops whenever required to ensure critical maintenance improvements are incorporated into future capital projects.
People Leadership & Operational Excellence
Serve as the single point of contact for coordinating with support functions to resolve technical issues on the production line.
Drive PM Pillar progression by coaching teams on loss elimination principles.
Build deep technical capability within the line team in collaboration with Engineering & Technology (E&T), Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Focused Improvement (FI) pillars.
Coach teams to strengthen equipment ownership capability through CIL and CL practices.
Lead at least one Standard Work Process (SWP) at the plant level to develop self-capability while building organizational capability.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Education
University degree or equivalent.
Maintenance background or equivalent technical experience.
Technical Knowledge & Skills
Strong structured problem-solving and analytical skills.
Technical expertise in one or more of the following:
Powder conveying
Process machinery
Instrumentation
Automation
Civil engineering
Chocolate manufacturing
Strong understanding of maintenance planning, budgeting, spare inventory management and maintenance control.
Good knowledge of SAP, manufacturing systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with unionized workforces.
Proven self-management, time management and organizational agility.
Results-oriented, proactive and action-driven.
Ability to manage ambiguity and perform effectively in a fast-changing environment.
Experience
Hands-on experience in sanitation and food safety.
Experience in automation and digital manufacturing.
Working knowledge of SAP systems.
Additional functional or line-specific experience as required.
Language Requirements
Fluent in English.
