Job Description

Role: - Senior Manager, Decision Science
Location: - Bengaluru

OBJECTIVES / PURPOSE

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join Takeda's GCC Commercial Analytics & Insights (CA&I) organization in India as part of the Decision Science & AI Enablement COE. This hands-on, strategic role drives innovation in response modeling, ROI/mROI estimation, scenario development, and resource optimization to inform data-driven commercial decisions. You will also translate advanced analytics into actionable insights while leading a high-performing data science team This leadership role is accountable for leading decision science pod, governing delivery quality, and scaling reusable capabilities that support US and global commercial priorities.
 

How you will contribute:

• Lead the development and application of promotion response models for campaign assessment, targeting, and spend optimization capabilities and delivery of priorities
• Manage data sourcing and provide hands-on QA and modeling input preparation.
• Lead and coach data scientists driving a culture of performance and accountability aligned with Takeda values
• Work with internal stakeholders and vendor partners
• Serve as Measurement, Optimization, and Simulation (MOS) point of contact for promotional performance, simulation, and optimization questions

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Modeling, Testing & Optimization:

• Lead the development of repeatable analytic capabilities and workflow automation
• Lead the design and deployment of advanced models (GLM, Bayesian, logistic regression, ML/ensemble methods)
• Lead ROI/mROI estimation, response curve development, and scenario simulation.
• Apply optimization techniques to guide resource allocation decisions.
• Lead the design and measurement planning for in-market tests and observational analyses to measure campaign impact.
• Deliver clear, defensible recommendations on promotional investment.

Talent Development and COE Excellence

• Lead, coach, and develop Senior Analysts, Analysts, and data science contributors, providing clear goals, ongoing feedback, and career development support.
• Build advanced team capabilities in AI/ML, decision science, commercial pharma data, model governance, experimentation, storytelling, and responsible AI practices.
• Establish operating routines for intake, prioritization, code review, model review, documentation, knowledge management, and escalation across India-US ways of working.
• Support hiring, onboarding, succession planning, vendor coordination, and capability-building activities that strengthen the Decision Science & AI Enablement COE.
• Personally pursue continuous learning, including adoption of AI and advanced modeling techniques and foster continuous learning throughout the DS organization.
• Drive knowledge sharing and capability development across USBU.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

• Lead in the advancement of modeling methodologies, tools, and platforms to meet evolving business needs.

• Lead in the integration of AI-driven solutions to enhance modeling efficiency and enable self-service analytics.
   

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree required in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Business, or a related quantitative field.
• Advanced degree (Master's, MBA, or Ph.D.) in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related quantitative field is strongly preferred.
• Relevant certifications in analytics, cloud platforms, machine learning, AI, or project management are a plus.

Experience:

• 9+ years of progressive experience in AI/ML, data science, advanced analytics, healthcare analytics, or pharmaceutical commercial analytics, with demonstrated experience leading analytical teams or pods.
• 4+ years’ experience developing and delivering marketing mix, multitouch attribution, A/B Testing, investment optimization, what-if scenarios, and execution recommendations.
• Deep working knowledge of commercial pharma or healthcare datasets such as claims, CRM, digital engagement, EMR, specialty pharmacy, omnichannel interaction, access, or sales data.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority data science initiatives across brands, stakeholders, and timelines in a matrixed, cross-cultural environment.
• Strong proficiency in modern analytics ecosystems, including Python, SQL, Databricks, Spark/PySpark, BI tools, ML frameworks, and cloud-based ML platforms.
• Experience with GCC, offshore delivery, or global shared services ways of working is preferred.
