The Oasis operates the historic AAA Four Diamond Inn and Ranch, restaurants, gift shops, and the world's lowest elevation golf course. Job Summary:The Guest Engagement & Activities Manager will be responsible for creating and facilitating entertainment, activities and experiences for guests. Often working closely with Sales, Food and Beverage, Rooms, and Catering departments to plan and positively impact guest engagement and experience. Must embody high level of guest Interaction, event coordination, operational logistics, communication and interpersonal skills.
The Details:Position Type: Full-Time, Year-RoundSeason Dates: As soon as possible on next available start date (Approximately 3 weeks)Pay: $72,800 annuallySchedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
• Facilitate guest events, activities, and guest engagement program with the goal of maximizing guest return percentage with our hotel. • Prepare and present a monthly activity calendar to General Manager and liaison departments for approval• Must engage guests constantly to ensure program awareness and success.• Clean, inspect and maintain facilities, equipment, and supplies to ensure safety and proper operation.• Adhere to all Xanterra safety, risk, and environmental policies.• Conducts site tours for potential clients and VIP’s as needed.• Works with the Catering Events Coordinator to facilitate banquet and catering evets as needed. • Coordinate open house events to introduce resources, calendars, and information about planned resort events.• Manage budget with accounting department to not exceed annual limit. • Collaborate with Rooms and Sales departments to plan, develop, implement entertainment activities, including shows, and engagement programs. • Must be able to understand budget, fiscal responsibilities, and manage expenses.• Responsible for assisting with transporting guests to and from or between properties safely and in a timely manner when hosting events.• Work well with vendors and performers, etc. to ensure that needs are met.• Partner with other departments to for set up, tear down, labor scheduling, etc.• Plan, execute, oversee onsite events and activities for the benefit of property guests. • Prioritize and adhere to safety protocols during event preparation and post execution.
Qualifications
• Some College or Degree earned program• Public Relations and/or Event Planning experience. • Must be organized and effective in establishing routines that prioritize reading emails, preparing for off-property departures. • Able to listen to feedback with composure and professionalism and demonstrate improvement. • Able to embody attention to detail and ensure safety of self and all participants. • Demonstrates consistent professional verbal and written communications skills - strong customer service skills, proper phone etiquette and the ability to work well with others.• Must maintain a high level of confidentiality related to personnel matters.• Appropriate public contact skills in dealing with people with diverse backgrounds; ability to deal tactfully with problem situations.• Knowledge of office procedures, protocol, and file maintenance.• Excellent PC skills including MS Office Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point, and Outlook.• Maintain valid Driver’s License and ability to safely drive a passenger van for extended periods of time.• Bilingual (English and Spanish preferred)
