Managing Director / General Manager – Spain (Barcelona Area)

We are looking for an experienced Managing Director / General Manager to lead our Spanish operation through its next phase of growth. This is a high-impact leadership role with full accountability for business performance, commercial strategy and organisational development across Spain.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the VP, Northern Europe & Spain, you will lead the Spanish leadership team and drive the delivery of ambitious revenue, margin and profitability targets while ensuring strong customer focus, operational excellence and compliance.
You will be responsible for translating regional priorities into a clear local strategy, building high-performing teams and creating the governance, performance culture and customer relationships needed for sustainable growth.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the overall strategy, operational management and financial performance of the Spanish business.
- Owning revenue growth, profitability, working capital and key business KPIs.
- Driving commercial excellence through customer retention, new business growth, pricing strategy and sales execution.
- Building and maintaining strategic relationships with customers, suppliers, veterinary groups and key industry stakeholders.
- Leading and developing a high-performing leadership team focused on accountability, collaboration and results.
- Partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Procurement, HR, Finance, IT, Regulatory and Customer Service teams to deliver outstanding business performance.
- Acting as the key connection between the Spanish business and European leadership, ensuring local priorities align with wider strategic objectives.
What We're Looking For
You will be a commercially minded business leader who combines strategic vision with a hands-on, pragmatic approach.
You'll bring:
- Experience as a Managing Director, General Manager, Country Manager or senior commercial/operational leader.
- A strong track record of leading P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting and business growth.
- Exceptional commercial acumen with expertise in sales leadership, customer development, pricing and margin management.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving performance through change.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English. Catalan would be an advantage.
