Stickley is looking for a Utility Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Manlius, NY.
This is a hands-on role for someone comfortable working with machinery, understands the importance of precision, and takes pride in quality work. You will operate mechanical and computer-aided woodworking machines to produce the furniture parts that become part of Stickley's finished products.
You will work with different wood species and materials, read production information and drawings, set up and operate equipment, inspect your work, and help keep production moving safely and efficiently.
The work is varied, with opportunities to work across different machines and processes while building your skills in a skilled manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities
- Identify and grade wood species and materials, including Cherry, Mahogany, Oak, Maple, Birch, and veneers, according to Stickley standards
- Read and understand production tickets, part drawings, and manufacturing specifications
- Operate and set up mechanical and CNC woodworking machinery
- Make adjustments to keep production running efficiently
- Inspect parts for quality and dimensional accuracy
- Perform and document preventive maintenance tasks
- Communicate equipment, material, or quality issues to supervisors and team members
- Assist with material handling and off-bearing as needed
- Keep your work area clean, safe, and organized
- Work as part of a team to meet production and quality goals
- Look for ways to improve safety, quality, and efficiency
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating woodworking, CNC, or manufacturing machinery preferred
- Experience working with wood or other materials requiring attention to detail is a plus
- Ability to identify wood species and make grading decisions
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, part drawings, production tickets, or similar documents
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn and operate different equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
