Job Summary

 

The Staff Treasury Accountant is responsible for providing support in the management of the company’s financial transactions, cash flow, and banking activities. This role involves a range of administrative and financial tasks, with a heightened need for accuracy and organizational skills.  Responsible for dealing with high value, time sensitive, and sometimes confidential financial transactions

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Monitors prior-day and same-day bank activity; researches and resolves exceptions, returned items, bank fees, and other discrepancies with banks and internal teams.
  • Prepares and reviews releases domestic and international payments, including wires and ACH transactions, in accordance with approval requirements, cutoff times, and payment controls.
  • Performs monthly bank and treasury-related general ledger reconciliations for cash; investigates reconciling items and posts necessary journal entries.
  • Supports compliance with treasury policies, SOX and internal controls, and audit requirements by maintaining documentation, control narratives, and supporting evidence.
  • Participates in treasury process improvements and implementations involving treasury management, enterprise resource planning, and banking platforms; performs testing, supports user training, and documents changes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Skills and Competencies

 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in SAP preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Proven team player

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test. 

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with international treasury operations, including cross-border cash management, foreign currency transactions, and international banking relationships.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Experience working in the oil and gas industry.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions


  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
