It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.

Description of Work

The NC Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), in collaboration with its partners, protects the health and safety of all North Carolinians and provides essential human services.

DHHS has established a new Division of Child and Family Well-Being that focuses on supporting whole child and family health and well-being for North Carolinians. It will bring together complementary programs from the Divisions of Public Health, Mental Health, and Social Services to maximize services and outcomes for children and their families, including nutrition programs (SNAP, WIC and Child and Adult Care Food Program), health and prevention services for children and youth, children's behavioral health services, and early intervention programs.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide speech language services to include evaluation and possible treatment services to children and families enrolled in or referred to the NC Infant Toddler Program. The SLP also assists in determining eligibility for the NCITP and serves as a member of the IFSP team, contributing to the development of the child and family’s service plan. Services must be provided in compliance with Federal and State regulations for the Infant Toddler Program. This position will be located at the CDSA of the Cape Fear in the Fayetteville office and serve the surrounding counties (Cumberland Co., Bladen Co., Robeson Co. & Sampson Co).
