The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic, fast-paced Agile development program where you will play a critical role in building, operating, and enhancing systems within a secure AWS cloud environment. As a key Platform team member, you’ll help ensure our servers, applications, and infrastructure stay highly available, resilient, and optimized for daily mission needs.

This role offers continuous challenge and growth—our diverse systems and evolving cloud landscape will give you opportunities to deepen your technical expertise, influence architectural decisions, and innovate alongside application, data, and security teams. If you enjoy solving complex problems, designing scalable cloud solutions, and working collaboratively in a SAFe environment, this is the place for you.

Remote but required to travel to Scott Airforce base on a quarterly basis!

Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage AWS infrastructure across multi-account, multi-environment landing zones, including systems management and solution design.
  • Install, configure, deploy, and maintain servers, software, and supporting platforms.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliable day-to-day operations.
  • Strengthen infrastructure security by managing access controls, backups, firewalls, and compliance tasks.
  • Collaborate within a SAFe Agile delivery model alongside application, data, and security teams.
  • Support IaaS, IaC, networks, and firewalls to maintain secure and scalable environments.
  • Perform upgrades, IAVA patching, and ensure STIG compliance.
  • Maintain systems per contract requirements, performing proactive performance and availability monitoring.
  • Investigate and resolve system outages and technical issues.
  • Manage cloud resources in AWS to support program needs and evolving mission requirements.
  • Develop and maintain internal technical documentation, system manuals, and IT policies.
  • Contribute to multi‑region disaster recovery planning, backup automation, failover design, and resilience engineering.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • An active DoD Secret clearance.
  • 5 years of related technical experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Security+, AWS, or similar IT certification.
  • Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar technical role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and leadership levels.
  • Hands-on experience with servers, networks (LAN/WAN), cloud environments, and patch management.
  • Ability to understand, document, and distill technical solution requirements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Expertise with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Production Kubernetes/EKS experience, including Docker/containerized workloads and image building.
  • Active Directory and identity federation integration experience.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with Git, Jenkins CI/CD, Terraform, Docker, and automation pipelines.
  • Experience with STIG compliance and security patching.
  • Working knowledge of AWS-hosted environments and cloud-native services.
  • Scripting experience (Shell, Perl, PowerShell) and comfort with automation tooling.
  • Strong Terraform experience (modules, state management, reusable IaC) and Ansible knowledge.
  • Exposure to observability/logging platforms such as Splunk or CloudWatch.
