What you'll do:

As an Equity Capital Markets Analyst at MUFG in London, you will immerse yourself in the dynamic world of capital markets by supporting the origination and execution of equity transactions across EMEA. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with senior bankers on strategic advisory projects related to capital structure and financing alternatives. You will be entrusted with creating bespoke presentations for clients and investors that reflect the highest standards of accuracy and detail. Analytical tasks will form a significant part of your role as you evaluate market conditions, deal structures, pricing strategies, and investor preferences. Administrative diligence is essential as you ensure compliance with regulatory requirements throughout each stage of the transaction process. You will also gain valuable exposure by interacting with other product teams within MUFG’s Capital Markets division—broadening your understanding of how these products contribute to overall client profitability. Success in this role requires adaptability when managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines while maintaining effective communication with stakeholders across regions. By building strong relationships internally and externally, you will help drive best practices that align with MUFG’s commitment to excellence.

  • Provide comprehensive support to senior bankers during all stages of equity and equity-linked transaction processes, from idea generation through to execution.
  • Collaborate closely with senior bankers to deliver corporate finance advice related to capital structures, financing alternatives, and strategic transaction planning.
  • Take responsibility for producing high-quality internal and external presentations, client pitch books, and investor materials tailored to specific needs.
  • Conduct detailed qualitative and quantitative analyses to assess market conditions, valuation metrics, deal structures, sizing options, pricing strategies, and investor considerations.
  • Ensure completion of administrative and compliance tasks associated with the origination function while maintaining regulatory standards.
  • Develop a practical understanding of MUFG’s wider product capabilities by interacting with various Capital Markets teams and understanding overall client relationship profitability.
  • Identify issues or concerns swiftly and accurately using technical capability; resolve problems efficiently while adhering to agreed procedures and service requirements.
  • Manage conflicting priorities effectively by re-prioritising work as needed to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues inside and outside EMEA Capital Markets to build effective working relationships that promote best practices across the region.
  • Utilise a range of communication skills to adapt interactions for different clients, stakeholders, and external parties ensuring clarity and professionalism.

What you bring:

To excel as an Equity Capital Markets Analyst at MUFG in London, you will bring proven experience from an analyst-level position within a global banking environment or equivalent financial institution. Your academic background in finance or related fields equips you with the technical knowledge necessary for evaluating complex transactions. You possess advanced numerical skills that enable you to conduct thorough quantitative analyses assessing everything from market conditions through deal structuring to investor preferences. Your proficiency in Microsoft Office ensures that every presentation or pitch book meets exacting standards for clarity and impact. Attention to detail is second nature as you prepare documentation that must withstand scrutiny from both internal stakeholders and external clients. Communication is one of your strengths; whether engaging with colleagues across departments or presenting findings externally, your approach remains considerate yet clear. Managing competing priorities comes naturally thanks to your structured mindset, allowing you to balance workload demands against compliance requirements seamlessly. You thrive in collaborative settings where sharing insights fosters communal achievement rather than individual competition.

  • A solid foundation in corporate finance principles gained through university studies or equivalent work experience at analyst level within a global bank or similar institution.
  • Strong numerical abilities enabling you to perform complex quantitative analyses relevant to equity market conditions, valuations, deal structuring, sizing options, pricing strategies, and investor considerations.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills allowing you to produce high-quality presentations, pitch books, and investor materials tailored for internal or external audiences.
  • Excellent attention to detail ensuring accuracy in all aspects of transaction analysis and documentation preparation.
  • Effective communicator capable of adapting your style for different clients, stakeholders or external parties while maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Ability to manage large workloads efficiently by prioritising tasks according to deadlines without sacrificing quality or compliance standards.
  • Structured approach towards problem-solving that demonstrates sound judgement when identifying issues or errors within agreed procedures.
  • Experience working collaboratively as part of a team where sharing knowledge supports communal success across departments or regions.
  • Regulatory certification (Fit & Proper / FCA Certified – Client Dealing) required for this role; willingness to obtain if not already held.
  • European language skills are beneficial but not mandatory; openness towards learning new languages or cultural nuances enhances your effectiveness.
