Join FLSmidth and help shape the future of mineral processing.

You will be part of a leading technology and service provider to the global mining industry. We partner with customers throughout the lifecycle of their operations, delivering innovative technologies, solutions, and expertise that support more productive and sustainable mining.

At FLSmidth, we believe our people are the foundation of our success. Our diverse, global workforce creates opportunities to collaborate, develop, and make a meaningful impact. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where employees and leaders can thrive.

About the team

As a Senior People Experience Partner, you will play a key role in supporting our Tucson operations, serving as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders across the organization.

This highly visible, onsite position requires a hands-on approach to employee relations, leadership coaching, talent development, and People Experience operations. You will work closely with employees and leaders, including maintaining a regular presence on the shop floor, to understand business priorities, strengthen employee engagement, and support high-performing teams.

You will also have opportunities to collaborate with People Experience colleagues across North America (NAMER) and globally, contributing to initiatives that enhance the employee experience and organizational effectiveness.

Your responsibilities

Employee Relations & Leadership Coaching

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders on employee relations, workplace concerns, and People Experience matters.
  • Independently manage employee relations cases, including workplace investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
  • Coach and advise leaders on performance management, employee development, difficult conversations, and effective people leadership.
  • Conduct fair, thorough, and confidential workplace investigations, ensuring appropriate documentation and resolution.
  • Identify employee relations trends and proactively recommend solutions to strengthen workplace culture and reduce recurring issues.

Business Partnership & Employee Experience

  • Establish strong relationships with employees and leaders through consistent engagement across the Tucson operation, including the shop floor.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of operational priorities and workforce needs to provide proactive People Experience support.
  • Partner with leaders on employee engagement, talent management, succession planning, team development, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Support organizational change initiatives and help translate regional and global People Experience strategies into effective local actions.
  • Facilitate training and development programs that strengthen leadership capabilities and employee performance.

People Experience Operations

  • Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, employee changes, talent processes, and offboarding.
  • Coordinate recruiting activities for designated positions in partnership with Talent Acquisition and external providers, as needed.
  • Maintain accurate employee information in Workday and guide employees and leaders through HR systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with Benefits and Absence teams to support employees and leaders with benefits and leave-related matters.
  • Prepare and deliver clear communications regarding People Experience programs, policies, and organizational changes.
  • Analyze workforce data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to support people-related decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, operational efficiency, service delivery, and the overall employee experience.
  • Participate in regional and global People Experience initiatives and projects.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.

What you bring

  • 3–5+ years of comprehensive Human Resources experience, preferably in an HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, Employee Relations, or People Experience role within an operational or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
  • Proven ability to coach and influence leaders, navigate sensitive employee situations, and provide practical, business-oriented HR guidance.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish credibility and trusted relationships across all organizational levels.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to maintain a visible presence on the shop floor.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience using Workday HR systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to independently manage competing priorities while exercising sound judgment and appropriate discretion.
  • Experience facilitating training, supporting organizational change, and communicating with diverse employee groups.
  • High standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred qualifications

  • HR certification, such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
  • Spanish-language proficiency.
