Position Summary
Dublin Post Acute is seeking a dependable and hardworking Housekeeper / Laundry Aide to join our Environmental Services team. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors while also assisting with the facility’s laundry needs.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, able to work independently, and committed to providing a clean and welcoming environment for our residents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, common areas, offices, bathrooms, and other facility areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces as needed.
- Collect and properly dispose of trash and waste.
- Clean and maintain floors and other surfaces according to facility standards.
- Assist with cleaning resident rooms following room changes, discharges, and admissions.
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute facility laundry and resident clothing.
- Properly label and organize resident clothing and personal items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area.
- Operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely.
- Follow infection-control and sanitation procedures.
- Properly use cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report maintenance, safety, or environmental concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect residents' privacy and personal belongings.
- Follow all facility policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping, laundry, healthcare, or long-term care experience preferred.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
- Ability to communicate professionally with residents, families, and staff.
- Must be able to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift as required.
- Ability to safely lift and carry supplies and laundry.
- Ability to perform repetitive cleaning and laundry tasks.
- Ability to work around cleaning chemicals while following proper safety procedures.
