The Manager, Digital Construction drives construction project success by merging traditional project delivery systems with advanced Autodesk software capabilities and artificial intelligence. This role is responsible for leading full project lifecycles, ensuring seamless digital execution, and implementing AI-driven tools to automate workflows, optimize designs, and improve predictive safety and costing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Implementation & Delivery Systems
- Lifecycle Management: Lead construction projects from initial feasibility and planning through to execution, handover, and closeout.
- System Integration: Implement and manage digital Project Delivery Systems (such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, or Oracle Aconex) to maintain a single source of truth.
- Lean Execution: Apply Lean Construction and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) principles to optimize material supply chains and minimize onsite waste.
- Risk & Compliance: Identify potential project bottlenecks, manage budgets, track milestones, and ensure strict adherence to safety, environmental, and building regulations.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between developers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and municipal authorities.
2. Autodesk Application & Digital Workflows
- Software Ecosystem: Oversee the daily application of Autodesk tools (including AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and Navisworks) across project teams to drive design efficiency.
- Common Data Environment (CDE): Establish protocols for cloud-based document control within Autodesk environments, ensuring field crews always access the latest revisions.
- Digital Review Coordination: Lead interdisciplinary digital design review sessions to proactively address and resolve geometric conflicts and design gaps before breaking ground.
- Field-to-Office Data Flow: Ensure that technical data generated during the design phase flows seamlessly into construction execution and asset management systems.
3. AI Knowledge & Innovation Deployment
- Predictive Progress Tracking: Deploy computer-vision AI tools to automatically analyze 360-degree site photos and reality-capture data against digital technical designs.
- Generative Design: Integrate AI tools within the Autodesk environment to evaluate thousands of layout and design variations for structural efficiency, sustainability, and cost.
- AI-Driven Risk Mitigation: Utilize predictive analytics engines to analyze historical project logs, forecasting weather impacts, safety incidents, and supply chain delays.
- Workflow Automation: Build low-code automations to eliminate manual data entry and seamlessly move data between engineering and field execution platforms.
- Change Management: Educate and upskill construction teams on using AI applications, serving as the internal champion for digital technology adoption
Role Requirements
Education & Experience
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in construction project management, with a proven track record of handling mid-to-large-scale projects.
- Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent technical certifications are highly desirable.
Technical & Soft Skills
- Software Mastery: Deep proficiency in the Autodesk suite and related cloud collaboration tools.
- AI & Data Literacy: Hands-on familiarity with AI concepts (e.g., machine learning, predictive modeling, or generative design tools applied to construction).
- Delivery Methodologies: Strong grasp of modern delivery systems like Earned Value Management (EVM), Agile PM, or Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).
- Leadership: Exceptional team leadership, communication, and vendor management skills.
