Description
We are looking for a System Engineer (f/m/d) to drive communication, localization and sensing application development on NXP edge-devices for industrial automation use cases within the Industrial System Innovation team, for research projects in Europe, system demonstrators and reference designs.
Your Responsibilities:
- Contribute to realization of systems & application level innovations in industrial & medical domain using NXP's sense, think, connect & act components
- Gathering requirements from internal & external stakeholders, participate in system architecture definition, proof of concept implementation, deployment & testing using NXP Edge-AI platform
- Collaborate across engineering domains to drive technical execution in research projects and innovation initiatives
- Collaborate with external project partners and represent NXP in external project consortia in German and European innovation projects
- Participate in internal competency development activities like supervising student projects, knowledge sharing activities
Your Profile:
- Have a Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Security/Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Embedded SW development with practical expertise (through full-time work and/or student activities) such as microcontroller/microprocessor programming, interfacing sensors and other chips, UI development, 3D printing etc.
- Know-how and hands on experience in complete SW development lifecycle from prototype, testing, debugging, validation and commissioning
- Knowledge of PCB schematics & layout design, soldering, usage of measurement equipment (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, multi-meter etc.)
- Should be familiar with embedded SW development & config management environment (Git, Docker, and related tools)
- Experience with FreeRTOS, low footprint bare metal operating systems, Android and Linux (WSL)
- Python programming & AI tool usage knowledge would be an asset
- Have good strategic and analytical thinking skills, driving & result oriented personality
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to represent NXP at customer events/ tradeshows / exhibitions
- Be a team player, engaged, self-motivated with an adaptive way of working
- Have C1 level English spoken & written skills (fluent German would be an asset)
