Pivot Parking is actively seeking a Garage Attendant to join our growing team in downtown Richmond. We are seeking a self-motivated candidate to assist with daily parking sales transactions, general upkeep as well as repairs and maintenance of equipment and to the parking facilities that we operate. Ideal candidates possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on customer service while assisting patrons to the facilities, as well as general facility maintenance responsibilities. This position will play an integral role in assuring our contractual obligations are met in addition to providing the highest level of customer service with an equally important focus on safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of the operations. Additional staffing for special events as requested.
Key Job Duties Include:
Adhere to a comprehensive checklist to provide customer service, assist with collection of payments (credit card only) conduct daily facility inspections in parking garages & lots to ensure cleanliness & safety standards are met for our customers, reporting any discrepancies and or deficiencies that may be identified on an ongoing basis.
Assisting Patrons: Courteously assist customers by answering any possible questions and giving appropriate direction both on-site and to the surrounding area. If the customer is experiencing a problem, the ambassador should assist the patron to the best of his/her ability and if necessary refer the problem to the manager.
Inspect the parking equipment: Regularly inspect all monthly and transient equipment to ensure it is functioning properly, displaying the correct date and time, and is processing the correct hourly fees. Any issues will be reported to the Project Manager immediately for resolution.
Knowledge of Garage: Have a thorough knowledge of all areas of the garage in order to provide direction to the nearest exits and points of entry for the building.
Knowledge of Streets and Landmarks: Have a thorough knowledge of the streets and landmarks in the immediate area in order to provide directions to visitors who are not familiar with the area.
Reporting: Report any known observed or suspected violations of company policy, safety hazard or any unusual occurrence or matter to the Project Manager in a timely manner.
Monitor occupancy of the garage: Periodically walk each level of the garage to monitor the number of open spaces in order to maximize the occupancy levels. This will be logged and reported on a daily basis to the Project Manager.
Issue violations: While checking the occupancy on each level of the garage, Attendant will issue violation tickets to any vehicle that is parked improperly over the lines, illegally parked in a handicapped or reserved space, or parked in an unauthorized area.
Special Events: Assist with special events parking at several locations across the area and after-hour events
Chemical usage: This position requires that individuals be fully trained to properly handle chemicals in accordance to current federal standards. This position will also be trained to use only the most eco-friendly cleaning supplies in an effort to promote eco-friendliness.
General maintenance: Hired personnel will be skilled in all aspects of maintaining the garage facilities, trash bins, elevator lobbies and access routes into the building. Pick-up trash and empty trash cans throughout the facility. Remove spider and cobwebs from stairwells and light fixtures; change sand in the cigarette receptacles on a regular basis; and wipe windows and glass doors. Follow customized facility daily/weekly/monthly maintenance schedule along with anything else that pertains to the job and business needs that fall within this scope.

Compensation: $16.00-$17.00 (Depending On Experience)

Requirements
· Ability to work in high volume environment in an unsupervised capacity.
· Excellent written and verbal communication & interpersonal skills.
· Positive attitude at all times, especially when responding to requests for assistance/service.
· Must be able to adapt to changes, delays, or unexpected events and be available to work flexible schedule and rotating weekend day.
· Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to walking/standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 50 lbs.
High School diploma or a combination of experience & education.
Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required.
