Job Description Summary

The Senior Manager, Mexico & Colombia Corporate Affairs is responsible for providing end-to-end corporate affairs coverage for Mexico (70%) & Colombia (30%) in alignment with the WW Commercialization and Markets Communication team and in support of the country business priorities. This includes external communications, brand and corporate reputation and policy shaping, media relations, patient advocacy, issues management, and digital communications

 

The Senior Manager, Mexico & Colombia Corporate Affairs reports to the Director, LATAM Region and work in close collaboration with the GMs in Mexico and Colombia. He/She will be a key member of the local leadership teams. This position requires international travel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Main responsibilities: He/she is a seasoned Corporate Affairs leader, with strong strategic, digital and creative ability to drive integrated communications initiatives as needed in Mexico and Colombia.End‑to‑End Communications Execution in Mexico & Colombia
• Execute integrated, end‑to‑end Corporate Affairs plans for assigned brands, therapeutic areas, initiatives or markets, from strategy and narrative development through implementation and measurement.
• Develop and execute CA strategy and communications plans, content and tactics, ensuring consistency across channels and stakeholders.
• Ensure alignment with global frameworks, compliance standards and approval processes.
• Manage agencies and external partners for assigned projects, ensuring quality, timelines and budget adherence.
• Track, evaluate and report on activities using agreed KPIs and metrics.
• External Communications, Media & Reputation
• Develop and execute external communications activities, including media relations, thought leadership, corporate storytelling and digital content, within the assigned scope.
• Prepare messaging, Q&A, briefing materials and content for external milestones (e.g. data, launches, policy developments).
• Support issues and crisis management through monitoring, content development and execution of agreed response strategies.
• Strategic Counsel to Market Leadership
• Act as a strategic advisor to the GM in Mexico & Colombia on reputation, stakeholder dynamics, communications risks and opportunities.
• Be a trusted partner in handling confidential, sensitive and high‑risk issues, including organizational change, data milestones and external scrutiny.
• Proactively identify emerging issues and advise leadership on positioning and response.
• Science, Brand, Product & Disease Awareness Communications
• Execute integrated brand and disease awareness communications in support of priority products and therapeutic areas.
• Drive communications for clinical trial recruitment
• Develop and manage content across channels (earned, owned, digital), ensuring scientific accuracy, compliance and strategic relevance.
• Work cross‑functionally with Medical, Commercial and Market Access/Policy to ensure aligned and effective execution.
• Patient Advocacy & Stakeholder Communications
• Drive patient advocacy and stakeholder engagement with relevant patient organizations in line with BMS principles and governance.
• Contribute to ensuring the patient and caregiver perspective is reflected in communications initiatives and cross‑functional projects.
• Internal Communications & Employee Engagement
• Execute internal communications and employee engagement initiatives within the assigned scope, aligned with market priorities and leadership messaging.
• Develop content and support leadership communications related to change, transformation or key milestones.
• Ensure strong linkage between internal and external narratives.

Education, Qualifications and Skills:

 

• 8+ years of experience in brand, commercial, or corporate communications, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong network of contacts across Mexico and Colombia.
• Proven track record of delivering high impact integrated, multi‑channel communications programs in a regulated environment.
• Good understanding of the political environment in the region and ability to interpret how the external changes can impact BMS and its reputation.
• Strategic thinking and strong digital, writing, content creation and storytelling skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-changing environment
• Experience in working for large global organization, and strong ability to collaborate across the matrix with access, regulatory, medical and legal teams.
• Excellent ability to partner with business stakeholders, experience in working with senior executives
• Fluent in Spanish and English
