POSITION OVERVIEW

Speedcast is expanding its presence in high-growth markets, and India is a pivotal strategic priority. The Vice President of Business Development, Strategy & Partnerships will serve as Speedcast's founding in-country leader — establishing our operational presence, building transformative partnerships, and driving sustainable revenue growth across India and the broader region.

This is a dual-mandate role. In the near term, the VP will act as Speedcast's In-Country Head for India, with full accountability for local operations, regulatory compliance, team building, and revenue generation. Simultaneously, the VP will develop and execute a long-term BD strategy to forge alliances with ICTs, Telcos, and blue-chip enterprises, accelerating the adoption of Speedcast's full connectivity portfolio — including LEO (Starlink), GEO, LTE, SIGMA, and enterprise applications.

The Middle East serves as a secondary and expanding opportunity. Many India-based customers operate across borders and require connectivity beyond India. This VP will proactively identify and capture those cross-border opportunities, using India as a hub for a broader regional growth strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In-Country Head — India Operations

• Establish and lead all Speedcast operations in India as the most senior in-country representative, with full P&L accountability.
• Oversee India-specific financial reporting, tax compliance, banking arrangements, entity governance, and regulatory requirements.s
• Build and scale a high-performing local team, including sales, technical, and customer support functions.ns
• Develop and execute an India market-entry strategy, including go-to-market plans, pricing frameworks, and operational processes.
• Engage with Indian government bodies, regulatory agencies, and industry associations to support licensing, spectrum, and compliance obligations.
• Recruit and onboard a successor In-Country Manager; provide structured knowledge transfer and transition planning when the time comes to move to a new mandate.

Business Development & Strategic Partnerships

• Develop a comprehensive market-based partnership strategy for India and the Middle East, targeting ICTs, Telcos, system integrators, and enterprise companies.
• Identify, prioritize, and engage prospective partners for reseller, co-sell, and white-label relationships across Speedcast's product portfolio (LEO/Starlink, GEO, LTE, SIGMA, applications)
• Lead commercial negotiations and structure partnership agreements in collaboration with legal, finance, and product team.s
• Manage and grow Speedcast's strategic relationship with Starlink and key in-country partners in Ind.ia
• Own regional revenue targets; deliver consistent pipeline reporting, market intelligence, and performance updates to the CPO and leadership team.

Cross-Border Growth & Middle East Expansion

• Identify Indian customers with connectivity requirements extending outside India (maritime, enterprise, energy, government) and develop cross-border solutions to grow those accounts.

    

• Map and pursue strategic partnerships and business opportunities in the Middle East, leveraging India's relationships and Speedcast's global network.rk
• Collaborate with Speedcast's regional teams globally to ensure seamless cross-regional customer experien.cexperienceor competitive dynamics, market trends, and regulatory developments across India and the Middle East; adapt strategy accordingly.      

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure Speedcast's solutions are appropriately positioned and configured for local market needs
• Channel product feedback and technical collaboration opportunities to the Product Innovation and Product Management teams
• Represent Speedcast at industry events, trade shows, and executive forums in India and the Middle East
• Manage regional BD budget, including marketing activities and local team operations in India

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Required

• 12+ years of experience in technology, telecommunications, satellite communications, or related industries; at least 5 years in a senior BD or commercial leadership role.  
• Proven track record of building and closing complex strategic partnerships with ICTs, Telcos, or large enterprises in India
• Deep knowledge of the Indian connectivity market — regulatory environment, key players, customer segments, and competitive landscape
• Experience managing country-level or P&L-level responsibilities, including finance, HR, compliance, and operations
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to present strategy, pipeline, and risk to CPO and Board-level audiences
• Demonstrated ability to hire, lead, and develop a team, including succession planning
• Hands-on experience managing and growing customer and partner relationships in a technology environment
• Ability to manage and allocate budgets effectively

Preferred

• Familiarity with MPLS and LEO satellite technology (Starlink, OneWeb) and managed connectivity services
• Existing executive relationships with ICT or Telco decision-makers in India
• Experience in or exposure to the Middle East market (GCC region preferred)
• Background serving data center customers from various verticals, including enterprise, maritime, energy, and government customers, with cross-border connectivity needs
• Graduate or advanced degree in business, engineering, or technology
