Your Opportunity

Our civil assets are critical to the delivery of water and wastewater services across South East Queensland. To ensure these assets continue to perform safely, reliably and efficiently, we are seeking an experienced Civil Maintenance Specialist to provide technical leadership, assurance, and continuous improvement across our maintenance delivery programs.

Reporting to the Manager Maintenance Assurance within the Maintenance Services Group, you will play a pivotal role in driving maintenance excellence across a complex and geographically dispersed asset network. Working closely with Network Services, Resource Recovery, Operational teams, and external delivery partners, you will ensure civil maintenance activities meet engineering standards, regulatory obligations, and business expectations.

This is more than a traditional maintenance role. We are looking for a specialist who can identify underlying causes of asset and maintenance performance issues, influence stakeholders, and implement sustainable solutions that improve reliability, compliance, and operational outcomes.

What You’ll Deliver

• Provide subject matter expertise and technical leadership in the planning, execution, and assurance of civil maintenance activities.
• Develop and embed practical maintenance assurance frameworks that drive measurable improvements in quality, consistency, and compliance.
• Apply your technical expertise to solve complex civil maintenance issues
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, governance and technical management of change  requirements
• Build strong relationships with both internal teams and delivery partners
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to lift cost, quality and performance outcomes.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction or Project Management (or equivalent trade qualification and experience)
• 6+ years’ experience in civil maintenance delivery on large, complex programs
• Strong understanding of WHS and environmental legislation
• Familiarity with asset lifecycle principles and ISO 55000
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Certifications in Quality Auditing, Assurance and Compliance, or PMP are a bonus, but not a requirement.
