Missile Analyst

MTSI is seeking a Missile Analyst with experience in developing 6-Degree-Of-Freedom missile simulations. The candidate will join a threat engineering team focused on delivering models, simulations, and analytical products of foreign weapon systems supporting DoW’s Integrated Air Missile Defense (IAMD) mission. This role offers the opportunity to work on high visibility, cutting-edge missile systems and contribute to innovative solutions for national defense. Key Responsibilities Conduct performance analysis, design, integration, and testing of foreign missile systems with a focus on aerodynamics, propulsion, Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) for offensive and defensive systems. Develop and analyze missile flight kinematics to support Threat Engineering products. Collaborate with engineers and developers to prototype and test missile system flight dynamics using high-fidelity 6-DOF simulations in C++ and MATLAB. Provide detailed engineering analysis and analytic products for aerodynamics, propulsion, mass properties/moments of inertia, and GNC on foreign missile systems. Support ongoing Threat Engineering program and contribute to the development of corporate tool sets. Qualifications US citizenship and a secret level clearance required Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience in modeling missile systems development, including airbreathing, ballistic or hypersonic missiles, tactical weapons, US Navy interceptors, kill vehicles, on-board algorithms, or related analysis. Software development skills include but not limited to C++, Python, MATLAB Strong background in modeling and simulation with object-oriented code environments. Experience integrating models from different coding languages Experience with 6-DOF flight simulations including Aerodynamics, Propulsion Autopilots, Guidance algorithms, Navigation systems, state estimation, high fidelity seeker processing or target discrimination algorithms. Experience with model Verification and Validation (V&V) processes and techniques. Preferred qualifications MS or PhD Candidate should also have demonstrated ability to formulate and conduct analyses at the missile system and subsystem level to support requirements development and performance assessment. Demonstrated capability in missile system performance analysis and design. The pay range for this position is $115,000 year to $130,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
