The City of Concord is accepting applications for part-time Limited Service Administrative Support Technician positions. There is one vacancy at this time, in the Engineering Division of the Community Development Department, but this recruitment may be used for future Administrative Support Technician vacancies Citywide.
- Engineering: $26.85 - $29.64
What you will be doing:
The Administrative Support Technician in the Engineering Division of the Community Development Department will support records management projects, organizing engineering plans and related project documents. This position will help evaluate existing engineering records, identify and categorize documents, and ensure information is accurately captured and organized within the City’s records management system. The ideal candidate will be interested in engineering and construction and comfortable working with technical drawings and project documentation.
The schedule is approximately 30 hours per week, generally between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. The assignment is anticipated to end by June 2027.
When assigned to Engineering, the ideal candidate:
The successful candidate will be highly detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently with large volumes of technical records. The ability to read and interpret basic engineering and related documents is highly desirable. Experience with records management, document control, engineering or construction documentation, electronic document management systems, or municipal/public works records is a plus.
Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new electronic records systems are important. The individual should maintain accurate records, follow established procedures, and exercise good judgment when reviewing historical documents. Because this project involves detailed review of engineering records, accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail are essential.
- Submit a completed City of Concord application and the required supplemental question responses online at www.cityofconcord.org/jobs.
- All qualified applications and supplemental responses will be competitively evaluated, and those candidates demonstrating the strongest qualifications will be invited to interview.
- Successful candidates will be provided a conditional offer of employment and must clear DOJ/FBI live scan. See below for more information.
Conviction History:
If you receive a conditional job offer, you will be fingerprinted, and your fingerprints will be sent to the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The resulting report of your conviction history (if any) will be used to determine whether the nature of your conviction conflicts with the specific duties and responsibilities of the job for which you have received a conditional job offer. If a conflict exists, you will be asked to present any evidence of rehabilitation that may mitigate the conflict, except when federal or state regulations bar employment in specific circumstances. Having a conviction history does not automatically preclude you from a job with the City of Concord.
