Job Description

Site Overview

Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is our multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary technical interface for MRO customers, preparing and delivering clear technical communications, justifications, and recommendations that support shop findings and repair decisions.
  • Facilitate MRO forums and best-practice sharing, driving alignment across sites, capturing lessons learned, and standardizing high-impact improvements across the MRO network.
  • Own and continuously improve Engine Shop Manual (ESM) and related manual maturity for MRO, ensuring content accuracy, usability, and alignment with latest engineering and regulatory requirements.
  • Define, track, and analyze shop leading indicators (e.g., WIP, queue times, first-pass yield) to proactively manage performance and enable early intervention on emerging issues.
  • Drive structured problem solving in the shop, including leadership of Quality Event Reviews (QER) and Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) activities, ensuring robust containment and sustainable fixes.
  • Support definition and execution of off-wing technology and fleet strategy at MRO sites, including pilot deployments, benefits validation, and scaling of new tools, methods, and digital solutions.
  • Provide New Product Introduction (NPI) and service readiness support for Premier MROs (CBSA), GBSA, JV partners, and offload MROs, ensuring processes, tooling, and training are in place for launch.
  • Own MRO tooling strategy and lifecycle, including specification, standardization, deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement to support safe, efficient shop operations.
  • Manage and analyze shop visit cost performance, identifying drivers and leading cross-functional cost reduction initiatives without compromising Safety, Quality, or customer commitments.
  • Develop, maintain, and interpret the fleet cost model, providing insights on cost drivers by configuration, usage, and fleet segment to inform pricing, contracts, and long-term maintenance strategy.
