About the Role:

Grade Level (for internal use):

12

The Team:

The Market Intelligence division at S&P Global provides market data, insights and workflow solutions that support financial and corporate decision-making worldwide. You will join a fast-paced, collaborative sales team that values commercial excellence, market knowledge and a client-focused approach. Working closely with colleagues across Product, Marketing, Legal and Client Services, the team brings financial technology and regulatory reporting solutions to clients across international markets. This role offers strong visibility, collaboration with industry experts and opportunities for continued professional growth.

The Impact:

As an Associate Director, Sales Specialist, you will hold an individual sales quota and play a key role in winning new business and expanding relationships with existing clients across French-speaking European markets. You will manage complex sales cycles and engage confidently with senior stakeholders across large and complex client organizations.

Your work will contribute directly to regional revenue growth, strengthen S&P Global’s market position and establish the organization as a trusted strategic partner to leading financial institutions. You will also bring an analytical and commercial perspective to complex client needs, identify new approaches and help improve the effectiveness of the wider team.

What’s in it for You:

  • A competitive base salary and attractive incentive plan aligned with your sales performance.
  • The opportunity to shape commercial strategy and make a measurable contribution to growth in French-speaking European markets.
  • Direct engagement with senior leaders at buy-side and sell-side financial institutions.
  • Exposure to regulatory reporting, post-trade services and financial technology solutions across the global capital markets ecosystem.
  • Collaboration with international Product, Legal, Marketing and Client Services specialists.
  • Access to comprehensive benefits, wellness programs and professional development opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a focused sales strategy to achieve individual revenue and sales targets across French-speaking European markets, taking full ownership of commercial outcomes.
  • Prospect for new opportunities and build, qualify and maintain a strong pipeline. Manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from initial engagement through negotiation and contract execution.
  • Deliver clear, consultative presentations that connect clients’ business and regulatory needs with the value of S&P Global’s regulatory reporting and financial technology solutions. Communicate complex information effectively to both specialist and senior executive audiences.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and collaborate with Product, Legal, Marketing and Client Services to progress opportunities, resolve non-routine issues and support successful client renewals.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reporting and CRM records. Prioritize high-impact activities, remain resilient through setbacks and contribute ideas, market knowledge and professional expertise that improve team effectiveness and support junior colleagues.
  • Travel regularly, as required, for client engagements, industry events and business development activities. The role may involve approximately 25% to 50% travel.
  • All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.

What We're Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 5+ years of successful sales experience in financial markets, financial technology, regulatory technology or a related environment.
  • A proven record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas, winning new business and expanding existing client relationships.
  • Experience managing complex B2B sales cycles and commercial negotiations involving senior stakeholders and multiple decision-makers.
  • Professional fluency in French and English, with the ability to present, negotiate and build trusted relationships in both languages.
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets and financial services, with the ability to understand and communicate complex products and solutions.
  • Strong solution-selling and consultative sales skills, including experience identifying client needs and developing compelling proposals.
  • Strong commercial acumen, accountability and revenue focus, with the ability to take ownership of sales outcomes.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and resilience, with the ability to listen actively, understand different perspectives and remain positive and focused when facing challenges or setbacks.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize high-impact opportunities, manage competing demands and deliver high-quality work to deadline.
  • A collaborative and adaptable approach, including the ability to influence colleagues, work with incomplete or conflicting information and identify practical options in non-routine situations.
  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of post-trade services and regulatory reporting frameworks such as SFTR, EMIR or MiFID II.
  • Experience selling to or working with both buy-side and sell-side financial institutions within capital markets.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements in markets such as ASIC, MAS, HKMA, SEC, CFTC or Canada.
  • Proficiency in one or more additional European languages beyond French and English.
  • Experience acting as a trusted adviser or mentor to junior colleagues and sharing professional expertise to strengthen team capability.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and analytical thinking, with the ability to identify new commercial opportunities, introduce innovative approaches and contribute to initiatives that improve business efficiency.
  • Ability to build effective relationships across teams and functions, invite diverse perspectives, resolve competing priorities and connect S&P Global’s purpose and values with day-to-day decisions and client interactions.
