Job Description
Provides operational and customer support by performing a variety of account maintenance, document processing, and recordkeeping activities associated with customer onboarding and activation processes. Responsible for reviewing, validating, and processing customer information while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of service requests. Serves as a key point of contact for internal partners and customers by responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and supporting the overall customer activation experience.
The Junior Customer Activation Specialist works closely with cross-functional teams to process customer documentation, maintain account records, monitor service requests, and support account activation activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process customer account activation requests, account maintenance transactions, and related administrative activities.
- Review customer documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures.
- Enter, update, and maintain customer information across multiple systems and databases.
- Process account changes, record transactions, and maintain accurate customer records.
- Receive, classify, organize, and validate documentation and customer information.
- Research, investigate, and resolve account exceptions, discrepancies, and operational issues.
- Respond to customer and internal partner inquiries regarding products, services, account status, and documentation requirements.
- Provide timely and professional support to customers throughout the account activation process.
- Complete operational reports, tracking activities, and administrative tasks as required.
- Escalate complex issues, risks, or service concerns to appropriate teams when necessary.
- Support process improvement initiatives designed to enhance efficiency and the customer experience.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of products, services, systems, policies, and procedures within the assigned business area.
- Meet established productivity, quality, service, and compliance standards.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Typically two to three years of clerical, administrative, operations, or customer service experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in banking, financial services, customer onboarding, account servicing, or operations support.
- Experience working in a high-volume customer service or processing environment.
- Familiarity with customer account maintenance, records management, and operational procedures.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Basic knowledge of products, services, terminology, systems, and procedures related to the assigned business area.
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and service quality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex issues with limited supervision.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software applications, including Microsoft Office products.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new systems, products, and processes.
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
