Description
SLB OneSubsea is hiring an experienced OSS Field Specialist to run subsea landing string operations offshore, with hands-on responsibility for SenTREE subsea test trees and the SenTURIAN electrohydraulic operating system.
You will be the company's technical representative on the rig, with supervisory responsibility for the landing string crew and equipment during completion installation, well cleanup, well testing and intervention from floating vessels.
You will prepare, test and operate the primary subsea well control system inside the BOP stack.

Responsibilities
Operations
- Execute subsea landing string jobs offshore: rig-up, running, landing, operation, emergency disconnect readiness, retrieval and rig-down.
- Operate the SenTURIAN system from the master control station, including the hydraulic power unit, umbilical reeler and flowhead control panel.
- Function and pressure test SenTREE valves, latch and control lines before and during operations.
- Configure and verify emergency shutdown (ESD) sequences with the customer and rig crew before running.
- Interface landing string equipment with the BOP stack, tubing hanger running tool, lubricator valves and surface flowhead.
- Support FAT, SIT and offshore installation and removal of equipment.
Maintenance and troubleshooting
- Maintain, redress and pressure test landing string equipment between jobs.
- With minimal direction, diagnose equipment faults and determine whether the cause is mechanical, electrical or hydraulic.
- Make mechanical, hydraulic and electrical repairs, and request parts early enough to avoid lost time.
- Read and work from schematics, assembly drawings and procedures.
- Keep tools, test equipment and vehicles in good working order.
Service delivery and HSE
- Own job deliverables: accurate daily reports, test records and end-of-job reports, on time.
- Take part in job risk analysis, service quality meetings with customers, and continuous improvement actions.
- Carry out self-assessments, compliance audits and wellsite inspections to company and regulatory standards.
- Act as the on-site liaison between the customer, rig crew, engineering and third parties on procedures, spares, fit and function.
- Follow company and customer HSE policies, wear required PPE, and keep all safety training current.
- Supervise and coach less experienced crew on the job.
Required equipment knowledge
Applicants must have working, hands-on knowledge of the systems below. Expect technical questions on them at interview.
SenTURIAN electrohydraulic operating system
- Operating the system from the master control station, with the hydraulic power unit and umbilical reeler.
- Preparing and testing the subsea control module before a job.
- Setting up and testing emergency shutdown and disconnect sequences.
- Using pressure and flow feedback to confirm subsea functions and find faults.
SenTREE subsea test trees
- SenTREE 7 (10,000 psi) and SenTREE HP (15,000 psi) subsea test trees.
- Redress, function and pressure testing of the ball, flapper, latch and retainer valve modules.
- Controlled and emergency disconnect, and re-latch.
- Configuring the tree to suit the BOP stack and tubing hanger running tool.
Qualifications
Minimum
- 5 or more years of offshore field experience in subsea landing strings, subsea test trees or completion installation and workover control systems.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience operating and maintaining SenTREE 7 or SenTREE HP and the SenTURIAN operating system.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills on high-pressure equipment rated to 10,000 and 15,000 psi.
- Able to read hydraulic and electrical schematics, assembly drawings and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to complete job reporting accurately.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States and residing in the country.
- Able and willing to travel and work internationally on assignment, including holding a valid passport and obtaining visas and work permits as needed, and follow the safety and procedural requirements of the company and its customers.
- Able to pass offshore medical, water survival and HUET training.
Preferred
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in a technical subject.
- Experience supervising a landing string crew offshore as lead or senior specialist.
- Experience with tubing hanger running tools, subsea trees, IWOCS or BOP interfaces.
- Experience with well testing and reservoir cleanup operations from floating vessels.
- Familiarity with Muzic wireless telemetry and digital gauge systems.
- Experience with deepwater, high-pressure or high-temperature wells.
- Knowledge of SAP.

Physical and offshore requirements
This job is physically demanding and is performed offshore. It involves lifting and carrying, climbing stairs and ladders, working at height and in confined spaces, and exposure to heat, cold and noise.
Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Any offer is conditional on passing a post-offer medical and fitness-for-duty evaluation and completing offshore water survival training.
Work conditions
- Field-based role on rigs and vessels, with rotations of 3 to 4 weeks at a time.
- Mobilization at short notice to jobs in the US and internationally; this position can be assigned to work in any region.
- Fluctuating schedules and extended hours as jobs require.
- Shop-based maintenance and preparation between offshore assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
