Retail Sales, Customer Service & Inventory
Openwork is hiring an experienced Retail Associate / Inventory professional for an established public-safety retail company in Southeast Houston, TX 77023.
This position is primarily retail-focused, involving face-to-face customer service, sales assistance, merchandise organization, and inventory support.
Qualified candidates must have at least 2 years of in-person retail or customer-facing sales experience, strong communication skills, and a professional attitude. Candidates should also be comfortable working in an environment involving firearms and public-safety products.
Position Details:
- Location: Southeast Houston, TX 77023.
- Pay: $17/hr | Weekly Pay.
- Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM (one weekday off).
- Saturday: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM.
- Sunday: Off.
- Shift: 1st Shift.
- Employment: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service.
- Assist customers with product selections and purchases.
- Process sales, returns, and exchanges.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and handle transactions.
- Receive, label, stock, and organize merchandise.
- Maintain a clean and organized retail sales floor.
- Monitor inventory and replenish products as needed.
- Assist with inventory counts and incoming shipments.
- Maintain accurate product and inventory records.
- Follow company safety and product-handling procedures.
- Support additional retail and inventory duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of in-person retail sales or face-to-face customer service experience.
- Direct experience assisting customers in a retail environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable working primarily on the retail sales floor.
- Comfortable working around firearms and public-safety merchandise.
- Basic computer and point-of-sale (POS) skills.
- Ability to handle customer transactions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Willingness to learn new products and procedures.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to meet required background-screening requirements.
Preferred Experience:
- Retail sales and customer service.
- Inventory management, stocking, or receiving.
- Public-safety products, uniforms, or tactical equipment.
- POS systems and inventory tracking.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Primarily customer-facing retail environment.
- Regular interaction with customers and coworkers.
- Exposure to public-safety merchandise and firearm-related products.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to safely lift and move merchandise.
- Follow all workplace safety and product-handling procedures.
- Availability to work the assigned weekday and Saturday schedule.
