Maintenance Supervisor Summary

- Supervise, assign and direct maintenance technicians, and serve as back-up to the Director of Maintenance
- Oversee/assist payroll, timekeeping and attendance for maintenance staff, and assist with scheduling
- Manage work orders and preventive maintenance for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers, generators and fire/sprinkler systems
- Coordinate vendors and contractors, and inspect their work to make sure it's done correctly
- Conduct facility rounds and inspections, and support NYS DOH, Life Safety Code and OSHA compliance
- Work a regular weekend rotation and on-call schedule, and respond to building emergencies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- Graduate of a technical/trade school or Associate’s degree, preferred
- OSHA Certification, or related training/certification a plus
- 3+ years of experience in building maintenance, preferably in a skilled nursing facility/long-term care setting.
- Healthcare industry experience a plus. 1+ year of experience in a lead or supervisory maintenance role, preferred.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, boilers, compressors, generators, fire/sprinkler systems, and allied machinery.
- Ability to supervise, assign work, set priorities, and hold staff and outside vendors accountable for timely and correct completion of work.
- Must be able to read, speak and write English. Knowledge of other languages may be helpful.
- Must possess the ability to work well under pressure and be flexible.
- Ability to work cohesively with residents, families, and staff from various departments.
- Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license, preferred
