  • Handle plant upkeep tasks, such as lubricating equipment, cleaning filter beds, and completing preventative and reactive maintenance assignments.
  • Collaborate with journey-level engineers on complex troubleshooting and repair tasks, embracing a team-first mindset.
  • Participate actively in both on-the-job tasks and outside classroom instruction to master comprehensive engineering responsibilities.
  • Maintain safe and clean workspaces, adhering strictly to all safety protocols and guidelines.

Required qualifications:

  • Commitment to completing a 4-year term of combined full-time employment and outside classroom instruction through the Local 39 Training Department or a designated community college.

  • Valid California Driver's License and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass standard pre-employment background checks and drug screenings.
  • Strong motivation to learn comprehensive mechanical and electrical building systems, showing an eagerness to grow within the engineering field.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Basic familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical or electrical concepts.
  • Previous experience in a maintenance, trade, or hands-on labor role, though not required.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude to work effectively within diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
